Hey everyone! Happy Valentine’s day I hope you have all had a lovely weekend and have made sure that you took time for yourself to relax and refresh. Today I’m coming to you with an outfit that coincidently seems fitting for Valentine’s day, so I thought why not stand next to a bunch of red roses (which are my mums) and take some photos, which if do say so myself came out pretty good.
Recently on my Instagram, I have created a series on reels called Saturday style, my Instagram is @millielauraaa if you would like to check the videos out. The reels consist of small clips of me getting ready, this includes hair, makeup, accessories, and clothing all collated together, oh! and I must state it is presented in a much more glamourous, smooth way than how I actually look getting ready, which usually consists of me frolicking around my room whilst putting my trousers on and trying to get my top on without smudging my makeup, definitely a sight that only I need to see, I do wish it was as easy as it seems in the reels. As a creative person, I love how aesthetically pleasing the videos are, and how nice they are to watch back, especially when they have a song that fits the mood. Today’s outfit which I uploaded on my Instagram yesterday was week 4 of Saturday style. Creating this series and using my Saturdays to shoot this content has abled me to look forward to the weekends like I used to do pre covid, as I am able to do something I don’t have time for during the week which allows me to differentiate the weekdays from the weekend, which as we all know is pretty hard right now. I look forward to getting dressed up on a Saturday to take pictures and videos of the outfits I have styled and feel very enthusiastic about to then removing those outfits and my makeup, grabbing my laptop, and writing these blog posts.
I decided to buy an iPhone tripod as I knew that it would make it easier to get good quality images, help with filming the reels and make it easier when shooting images alone. I had been wanting one for a while to help me, so where do you go to first when looking for an item that isn’t a piece of clothing and will come ASAP, Amazon! of course. I didn’t know what tripod would be good quality and last a while but Amazon hasn’t let me down yet so… Well actually if I had to say how Amazon has been a little bit of a let down I would have to mention how they pack everything in boxes 3X bigger than the item you have bought, sometimes I have questioned if they have sent me the right product before I open it. Anyways I stay true to my word in that they haven’t let me down yet, the tripod is great and has made taking pictures alone much easier, as it comes with a Bluetooth remote which I can press when in position and take multiple photos without having to set a timer, it was definitely worth it.
Now onto the star of the show, the outfit! as I mentioned in a previous post I spend a lot of time on ZARA, so through one of my many daily scrolls, I came across this new beautiful shirt and couldn’t resist buying it (look at the bow!), it is everything I love wrapped up into one shirt. I have been wanting to style a red a blue look for a while as I love that colour combination, but couldn’t quite find the right pieces, but the second I saw this shirt I knew I had finally found the right piece. And in true Millie fashion, 2 colours arent enough so I had to pair it with this beautiful grey oversized blazer, which is one of my favourite purchases ever as it goes with almost everything in my wardrobe. lastly, I put on my red heels and a red lip from Estee lauder, which is amazing by the way, I highly recommend buying a matte red liquid lipstick as it lasts longer and doesn’t smudge as easily.
Thank you so much for reading this very chatty blog post, see you soon!
