Hey everyone, we are now officially in autumn, and fashion month is coming to end. I wanted to talk a little about fashion month, as it was one to remember, due the changes having to be made because of coronavirus. Fashion month is always exciting, and I look forward to seeing all the designer’s new collections. This year I was not only excited to see the collections, but I was excited to see how the designers would showcase their collections this year and if any used unique creative ways.
I was able to catch many of the shows as they were broadcasted on Instagram, I loved many of the shows for their collections like Etro and their elegant dresses and wonderful signature prints or Prada and Raf Simons imaginative designs, other shows like Versace stud out not only for their colourful upbeat prints inspired by Atlantis and use of pleated fabrics which I loved, but for their representation of diversity and inclusion. When I saw the image that featured headshots of all the models that were being featured in the show, I was amazed to see not only did they have a models with a range of different body types but they had models from different ethnic back grounds and races. It was incredible to see this happening, as I hope it’s a step in the right direction of fashion becoming more inclusive and accepting.
Another show that I loved was the Moschino show, as I was saying I was excited to see how designers would showcase their clothes in an imaginative way. Moschino surely did that, instead of live streaming a show with models walking down the catwalk and guests sitting in masks socially distancing, Moschino chose to take the opportunity of doing something different to keep his show interesting. He created a puppet show, the puppetS were walking along a catwalk wearing the Moschino collection being watched by puppet guests. It Definitely grabbed my attention as being something I have never seen before, but also for it standing out amongst other designers shows this year for the creativity behind it. He had an opportunity to recreate the fashion show this year a do something you would never normally see during fashion month he took that opportunity and still created a show that still had the excitement the intriguing and theatrical elements of what a fashion show should have. After watching some shows this month, I feel inspired to work hard to hopefully be able attend shows in person one day. I’m also looking forward to taking inspiration from the new trends seen this fashion month spring summer 2021 and styling my own perfect summer outfits next year.
Speaking of trends, this dress I’m about to talk to you about features one of my favourite autumns winter 2020 trends. I’m excited to kick start this new season with a blog post on this perfect autumn evening dress which, might be one of my favourite dresses I’ve ever worn. My birthday was on Monday, and prior to that I had been searching for a dress to wear to my birthday meal. As soon as, I saw this dress I couldn’t get it out of my mind, and after exploring all my options this seemed like the obvious choice. I had purchased this dress from Zara and honestly Zara never fails to come through with amazing clothing, it is 100% my favourite store at the moment. I had bought most of my outfits for over the summer from Zara, which I loved and now with an influx of all their autumn winter clothing coming in I can say impressed as always. Anyways back to the dress, I wanted to get a dress that was a midi/maxi length as here in England it is getting colder especially at night, I also was obviously looking for something that had colour or print, as they are two of my favourite things I look out for in clothing. In this case, the dress had both. The dress has a kaleidoscope of amazing colours that are embedded in a variety of different prints, the print on this dress reminded me of the print on an Etro dress, and Etro is brand I love at the moment.
So as I mentioned earlier, this dress features one of my favourite autumn winter trends, which is fringe, the fringe was one of the selling point for me added I loved the placement of it and how it added another element to the dress, it gave the dress a boho-chic look, which I loved, its classy but fun. I decided to pair this dress with some pink stone statement earrings, which from looking at my other posts, you can probably tell I love a statement earrings, and I must mention my love for them all the time. These earrings complimented the pink tones in the dress which drew me to buying them. I was extremely happy with the look; it was perfect evening look I was going for.
I hope you have enjoyed reading this post and getting an insight to my favourite shows from fashion month. And I hope you enjoyed reading about how I found the perfect birthday dress and how I chose to style it.
